Lakeshark! and Landshark! are two recently-published fiction books which use the Asian Carp crisis as a starting point for an adventurous romp through the State of Michigan and Lake Michigan’s shoreline. Written by Alan D. Roebuck, the author knows Michigan well.
Born in Detroit, he has lived in Michigan all of his life. Bouncing between Ann Arbor, home of the University of Michigan, and Grand Haven on the west coast of Michigan, Roebuck has traveled the Upper and Lower Peninsulas extensively.
As a teacher, his subjects are Communications, Psychology, and Business. He holds a Bachelor of Science Degree and a Masters Degree in Communications.
He wrote his first book when he was 29. Published by Tab Books/McGraw-Hill, the title: How To Put Up Your Own Post-Frame House or Cabin landed on the Book of the Month club and was one of the publisher’s top sellers. His second book: 509 Practical, Money-Saving Tips for Homebuilders was published the next year. He also provided the idea for a book published by Garden Way Publishing named: “Getting a Roof Over Your Head.” He wrote two chapters for that book.
Moving on to fiction, his current books are Lakeshark! Invasion of the Asian Carp, and the sequel Landshark! Invasion of the Asian Carp.
